The Special Collection "Effects of water level management on lake littorals and downstream rivers areas" is open
The CNR-Water Research Institute and the University of Insubria are involved in the activities of the Interreg Italy-Switzerland Project Parchi Verbano Ticino on the effects of lake-river-water management on the flora and fauna inhabiting Lake Maggiore, one of the large and deep lakes at the NW edge of the Po Plain (Italy), and the downstream Ticino River. The main aim of the project is to define transboundary shared rules for water and environmental management taking into account the complexity of the Lake Maggiore-Ticino River system, with possible interesting outcomes also for analogous lake-river systems.
